Jagdish Mandir is an iconic temple  in Udaipur   and is situated atop a small hill. This temple in the lake city was built by Maharana Jagatsingh in 1651.The temple is a magnificent edifice, the whole  structure built completely in marble and has intricate carvings on every inch of this temple.

The presiding deity here is Lord of Universe Jagadish ; Lord Vishnu.
Dressed in bright silks and ornaments the deity's eyes hold you under His spell.
.
The mount of Lord Vishnu;Garuda here is  a bronze idol,  is very charming and has  a   shrine  facing the main deity,
There are sub shrines around the temple and the surroundings are maintained very well.
A flight of stairs leads one to the temple and one can totally enjoy  peace here.
No one would leave this temple in a hurry as the peace and divine vibrations here hold you spell bound.
The pale glow of setting Sun presented an extra aura around the temple  as we visited in the evening. One can forget the outside world and focus on the divinity here.

Chennakesava temple, Belur Hasan district, Karnataka

Chennakesava temple at Belur in Hasan district is yet another example of Hoysala architecture. Built around 12th century, Chenna Kesava means Handsome Keshava and it refers to  Lord Krishna.

This temple has a South Indian multi tiered Rajagopuram which is visible from a great distance .
The temple houses an idol of Vishnu and daily rituals and worship is conducted here.

The view of the temple as one enters the gopuram is splendid. there is huge flag post in front of the temple. There is also statue of Garuda , Vishnu's mount in front of the flag post.

The ornate work on stone is akin to Hoysaleshwara temple. The figurines on top of each pillar in front of the sanctum would leave one wonder struck as it depicts fine carvings with lot detailing done with ornaments. The guides in the temple give detailed description of each statue and one can carry cameras and shoot to ones's content.

This temple is just around 16 kms from Hoysaleshwara temple.
Timings- This temple opens its doors at 7 Am and remains open til evening with no break during lunch hours.

Pallikonda Perumal .4th Tirunangur Temple

This  is yet another ancient temple of Vishnu Tirupati . Here we find Lord Vishnu reclining on serpent Adisesha and known as Ranganatha .
Senkamalavalli Thayar is the consort of Ranganatha Swamy
Garuda Azhwar sannidhi is right in front of the main shrine.

Inside  the temple we find small idols of Azhwars .
These temples do not get much crowd except during the festivals .
The temple is very old, small  and ordinary  and we find an idol of Ranganatha on Adisesha above  the main entrance.
I just wonder why these temples were not constructed as grand as other temples which we see in Chidambaram, Sirkazhi or Kumbakonam.
All Tirunangur temples can be visited in half a day.
Try to start around 8 Am so that it can be completed before 12.Noon.

Dwarkadeesh Temple Dwarka, Jagat Mandir-Gujarat

Dwarka, Lord Krishna's abode has a magical charm. Everything here you see belongs to him. Krishna's favourite, the cows and their calves roam the city of Dwarka very freely  as it is  their master's land. They do not trouble anyone. They are very docile and they are respected.

Lord Krishna's  Dwarakadeesh temple towers upon the city, its yellow flag fluttering atop as if beckoning His devotees .The temple is very huge and is situated upon Gomti creek known as Jagat Mandir, the universal shrine. The spire is 43 meters high and has intricate patterns and the flag flying atop is 52 yard of cloth which  is visible from as far as 10 Kms. The temple is built of soft limestone

Idol of Krishna is always decked up with fine silks and he is worshipped by devotees lovingly by singing hymns. Devotees carrying gifts, fruits and flowers for their dear Krishna visit the temple in big processions dancing to the beats of drums and singing Krishna's glory. It is really a spectacle to watch.

The evening aarti worship should not be missed at any cost , The whole atmosphere is charged as everyone starts chanting Krishna's various names . The clang of bells, beating drums, the worship offered to Lord gives one the  feeling that Lord Krishna is just amidst you.

There are timings for various darshans . During closure of the temple Krishna is put to sleep by singing lullabies and I could see many small children sitting near Him . Here Krishna lives, It is not the idol alone we see . We feel His presence and He is treated like a young child . See, feel and  blessed if you ever get a chance to visit Dwarka.

There are many other shrine dedicated to Devaki, Balram, Uddav, Pradhuymna around the main shrine.

it is better to avoid the services of Pandas /guide who offer help to go inside the temple.
