Durgiyana temple, Amritsar- Punjab

Durgiyana temple, a Hindu temple modelled like Harminder Sahib  was constructed in 1908.   It is also surrounded by a holy lake and the temple is known Durga Mata temple or Lakshmi Narayan temple as it houses both deities. The temple seen across the bridge is Lakshmi Narayan temple.  There are 2 more shrines inside  for Ram and Krishna . They are seen in their Durbar.
Ma Durga temple  with Bara Hanuman and Siva temple are  situated on the right side of this Golden temple . Maa Durga temple is about 700 years old. There are many deities inside this temple.
The temple is about 2 -3 Kilometers from Harminder Sahib and can be reached easily as many cycle and auto rickshaws ply here.
Photography is very much allowed inside the temple.

Great! Special thanks for I never knew about the existence of this Hindu shrine. On first look I mistook it for the Golden Temple but soon was wiser.

Oh my goodness, of all today's photos it is the one of the ceiling of the Sitala Maa temple that caught my eye. How beautiful and to think it is 700 years old.

we never get ourselves out of the lanes near Golden Temple and other areas with all the eating options. Always plan on venturing out and seeing some new places in Amritsar but the food never lets us do it.
Great post.
