Brahmapureeshwarar temple is situated 30Kms from the town of Trichy , Tamilnadu .This temple is known as Brahma sthalam ( temple where Brahma is worshipped)
It is believed that one can change one's fate by worshipping Lord Brahma here( Thailaiyezhuttu mattrum deivam )
The main deity is Lord Siva ,Brahmapurreshwarar blessing the devotees along with His consort Parvati, Babrahmapureeshwari . Lord Brahma has a separte shrine, one finds devotees praying here fervently seeking His blessing to fulfill their wishes. The temple has Pathanjali Muneevar Jeeva samadhi also.
It is believed that Lord Siva along with Parvati blessed Brahma when he undertook a penance to seek blessings of the Lord. For more information click here
The other temple where Brahma is worshipped is Uthamar koil in Trichy itself.
How to reach- Trichy is well connected by road , rail and air and there many budget as well as luxury hotels.

The warding off the evil eye symbols are quite different from what I am used to. And they make a cute picture too!

Beautiful temple and very interesting too especially since there are not many temples dedicated to Lord Brahma. Loved the pictures, the rudraksh covered canopy is so intricately done. Thanks for yet another fascinating post.
Thanks Arti..I remembered your Pushkar post when I visited the temple.

Fascinated by those masks designed to ward off the evil eye. Totally different from the Greek symbol that I am used to. Can these be found in houses as well and if so is their a particular place (IE a doorway/window) in which they are commonly found?
Ashok

Is this the only temple they say has been created for Brahma? I remember having heard somewhere that there is only one temple created for the creator himself. Is it true?

Very nice temple. Recently I worshipped Brahmapureeswarar Temple and had a nice darshan of the presiding deities. Lord Brahma's meditative posture is amazing. A must visit for everyone who goes to Trichy.
