Nagesh Maharudra temple is yet another Siva temple in Bandora village in Ponda. . This temple also houses Lakshmi Narayana and Ganesha shrines. The temple was built in 1780 AD
Nagesh Lingam here is a swayambhu( self.-manifestation) believed to have miraculous powers.
The history of the temple is not known. This temple was left untouched during the religious persecution by the Portuguese rulers. There are inscriptions in the temple which throws light on the antiquity of the temple. The mandapam in front of the temple has intricate wooden carvings which depict various stories from Hindu epics.
Shri Nagesh Maharudra temple is situated on Fermagude-Kavalem-Ponda road.

I love going to this temple especially to watch the reflections in the pond, especially during night time. Having Kokam kadi in the canteen in the temple premises is another favourite ;)

I should have taken a pic. with the reflection of temple in that pond. I got only the opp. side of the temple.
I too had kokam kadi in 2-3 places and I loved the coolant as our visit was in peak of summer.

I had been to this temple.What a beautiful traditional architecture.The temple tank is lovely.In the temples of Kerala I always stand near the temple well and admire and feel the beauty of cool water.Most of the temples have huge tanks.

Very typical Goan! The lamps in the hall hanging from the ceilings are European-like and the domes show the influence of Islamic architecture, while terracotta tiled roofs are very Konkanese-Kerala type. The lamp tower in front is somewhat like the one in front of Shanta-Durga temple, though smaller. There are some temples in Goa which have survived the Portuguese rule and this one is one amongst them. It is reflective of the diverse cultural elements of Goa.

You are right. It is a typical Kerala - Konkani structure and the European style of lamps I found in other temples too.
If I remember correct there is a huge holy pond opposite temple And the image of God is visible within the pond if the water is still.
