Kazhicheerama Vinnagaram,, Trivikrama Perumal, Tadalan, 108 divya desam at Seerkazhi

This divyadesam of Vishnu is in the town of Seerkazhi in Nagapattinam district.
The presiding deity here is Lord Trivikrama Narayana standing with his left leg pointing towards the sky . His right hand is extended as if to receive the dhan from King Mahabali and a finger of the left hand asking for the next one foot of land promised to him.
The Utsavar here is known as Tadalan. The Lord here is praised as mann alantha Thadalan ( Tadalan means ruler of the earth/world ). As Lord scaled the earth with His foot Sri Andal called him Tadalan.

Here Goddess Mahalakshmi is supporting the Lord so that He should not feel the pain of standing on one leg.

There are also  separate shrines for Lord Sri Rama , Garuda, Andal and Sri Krishna
The Sattainathar Kovil, a famous Shiva temple is also very close to this .
Read about Ulagalanda Perumal at Tirukoilur, the other Trivikrama temple near Tiruvannamalai which I visited.

Thiru Deivanagar Thogai,or Madhava Perumal - 10th Tirunangur temple

Lord Vishnu here, in this temple is  Deiva Nayaga Perumal in Nindra Kolam  and is flanked by Sreedevi and Boodevi.

Thayar , God's consort here has a separate shrine and is known as Deivanayagi.

The Utsavar here is Madhava Perumal and consort Madhava Nayagi.

All Gods gathered  here to pray Lord Vishnu, thus this  place came to be known as Devanar Thogai.

This temple located at Keezhchaalai is 6.5 Kms from seerkazhi and just 1 Km from Tiruvali.
Thirumangai Azhwar praised Lord here and it is sung daily by the priests here.

Vaikunta Nathar 6, Tirunangur temple, Near Sirkazhi

This temple has  Vainkunta Nathar, Lord Maha Vishnu blessing His devotees sitting on Adisesha. One leg is curled up ,bend at  the knees other let down as if he is  is waiting to rush to help those who completely surrender to him. The same idol, I have seen in Poornathrayeesa temple , Trippunithura in Kerala.
This temple has no other shrines.
There are idols of Santhana Krishna and consorts of Lord Vishnu in the sanctum.

Here the Moolavigraha( the main idol) and Utsavar are similar idols.
Check my previous posts  for other Tirunangur temples.

Brahamapureeshwarar - Tonaiappar temple, Seerkazhi, Tamilnadu

Brahamapureeshwarar -  Tonaiappar temple,Seerkazhi is a highly revered holy shrine and is very close to Vaidheeshawaran koil which is enroute to Chidambaram from Kumbakonam. It is 14th thevara sthalam and is situated near the river Kaveri. Here,  Lord Siva gives darshan in three forms -one as Lingam , Second, in  the form of a colossal statue  Tonaiappar with His consort Uma and last one as Sattainadhar Bhairavar.  All these forms are found in 3 different levels of the temple. One has to climb a few steep steps to have a darshan of Uma Maheshwar, Thoniappar and Sattainadhar.  One can see and enjoy the entire lay out of this huge temple from the top of the Vimanam.

Brahma is believed to have worshipped the Lord Siva here hence he is known as Brahmapureeshwar,(the main Lingam in the sanctum) During the deluge Siva is said to have secured the 64 art forms in a boat (Thoni) hence he is known as Thonaiappar. Sattainadhar is said to have quelled the arrogance of Trivikramar  after he showed his dominance over all the three worlds. Sattainadhar is worshipped here on every Friday night.

This is also the place where Tirugnana Sambandar received the Milk of Wisdom from Mother Goddess, known here as  Tirunilai Nayaki.

The temple with its vast area  and a calm, serene, salubrious atmosphere shuts oneself from the outside world and helps to have peace with oneself. A temple worth visiting to feel the vibrations of spirituality.

How to reach - The temple is about 25 Kms from the town of Kumbhkonam. Many buses ply from the city of Kumbhakonam.Good hotels are there in the town of Kumbhakonam.
